Renowned post-hardcore band Enter Shikari have announced the release of their highly anticipated fourth album, A Kiss For The Whole World. After taking a two-year break from writing music, frontman Rou Reynolds says he was “broken” and “desperate” to create something new – which shows in the new record.
Talking about the lead single, he explains, “‘(pls) set me on fire‘ grew out of that desperation. This song is a projectile vomit of positive energy. Every emotion trapped inside me for two years, finally set free.“
The album was recorded in a dilapidated farmhouse in Chichester, using only solar power. Reynolds says this was to bring “back some sense of naivety” and strip the creative process back to basics, adding, “This album is powered by the sun, the most powerful object in our solar system. And I think you can tell. It’s a collection of songs that represent an explosive reconnection with what Enter Shikari is. The beginning of our second act“.
To celebrate A Kiss For The Whole World, Enter Shikari have announced a collection of 2023 UK residency shows taking place through Spring.
Reynolds elaborates, “It’s hard to do anything interesting with live shows today. We wanted to do something different – become a local band to five major cities in the UK.“
