Great news for our Paralympic stars! The Albanese government has finally announced that our Paralympic medallists will get the same medal bonuses as our Olympic champions.
Cast your mind back to September 2, 2021. PM Morrison was under the spotlight, and The Female Athlete Project (TFAP), led by Chloe Dalton, had just raised over $100k for our Paralympians. That push was crucial in getting the government to promise equal medal payments for our Tokyo team.
It’s a bit late, but a solid step towards recognising all our athletes equally. Here’s hoping this becomes the new standard. 🏅
