Telekinetic chaos just got a lot more intense in Children of the Sun, as Devolver Digital and solo developer René Rother have released the Nightmare Paralysis update, and it’s free for anyone who owns the game.
This update is an invitation to test your bullet-bending skills against actual enemies that fight back. That’s right—Nightmare Paralysis introduces a sniper cultist who’s as trigger-happy as you are, ready to ruin your day if you’re not quick on the draw.
If you’re wondering how THE GIRL—a one-woman vengeance machine—can hold her own against hordes of cultists with just one bullet, the answer is equal parts genius and chaos: she reloads by shooting herself. Oh yes. It’s grim. It’s darkly hilarious. It’s Children of the Sun in a nutshell.
This update also brings a fresh horde mode, where waves of THE CULT’s brainwashed minions throw themselves into the line of fire (or bend it right back at you). Plus, dynamic weather and shifting levels keep you on your toes while adding to the game’s already unsettling atmosphere.
