The CommBank Matildas have finalised their 23-player squad for the upcoming international series against Korea Republic this April, with a mix of returning stars and fresh talent official squad announcement.
Kick-off is on Friday, April 4, at Sydney’s Allianz Stadium (8:00 pm AEDT), followed by a second clash on Monday, April 7, at Newcastle’s McDonald Jones Stadium (7:30 pm AEST). These games are essential prep for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026™.
Among the squad selections, Clare Wheeler (Everton WFC) makes her return after recovering from injury, while Courtney Nevin (Leicester City WFC) and Jamilla Rankin (TSG Hoffenheim) have been rewarded for their strong club form.
However, Sam Kerr will not be part of the squad as she continues her recovery from knee surgery. Chelsea has included Kerr in their Women’s Champions League squad, but she hasn’t yet been cleared to return to play. Interim Head Coach Tom Sermanni has confirmed that her focus remains on club-level rehabilitation before making her Matildas comeback.
With Kerr sidelined, Michelle Heyman, Caitlin Foord, Mary Fowler, and Holly McNamara are expected to lead the attack.
Following a disappointing SheBelieves Cup campaign, these matches will help to rebuild momentum and fine-tune their tactics ahead of the Asian Cup.
