Divorce has just gifted us ‘Pill‘, their first single of 2025, and it’s an emotional rollercoaster that somehow crams a whole universe into five minutes. It’s beautifully sad and completely captivating. If this track is anything to go by, their debut album, Drive to Goldenhammer (out March 07th via Gravity/Capitol), is going to be the moment.
Let’s talk about Pill. It’s like opening a musical mystery box: there are tense guitars, swooning strings, a surprise piano interlude, and then it all builds into an alt-country explosion of feelings. It’s erratic, but in that way, where you know, every piece was carefully placed, like the musical version of a “messy but thriving” Pinterest board.
The Story Behind Pill
Tiger Cohen-Towell (co-vocalist and guitarist) breaks down the inspiration:
> “It’s about sexual awakenings and the absolute thrill of feeling seen properly… It’s also one of the queerest songs on the record.”
Written in a borrowed flat in Glasgow on a borrowed piano, the song carries all the frantic, euphoric energy of figuring yourself out in a place that isn’t technically yours but somehow still feels right. It’s wildly relatable to anyone who’s ever felt like they’ve stumbled into their truest self by accident.

A Debut to Watch
If Pill wasn’t enough to sell you on Drive to Goldenhammer, their previous singles, All My Freaks and Antarctica, should do the trick. Both tracks hit the BBC 6 Music A-list, and the hype is only building. Pre-order now.
