You may have lived under a rock, free from gym playlists, wrestling intros, and chaotic house parties. For the rest of us, the nu-metal anthem is practically embedded in our DNA. And now, to remind us that ‘Bodies’ is eternal, Drowning Pool has released an official lyric video for the track. Because, you know, if you didn’t know the words by now, here’s your chance.
‘Bodies’ Goes Hollywood and… American Idol?
The timing of this release isn’t random. ‘Bodies‘ just popped up in the latest trailer for the upcoming season of Yellowjackets. This makes perfect sense because nothing says, “We may have gone full cannibal,” quite like LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOOOOR. But the real plot twist? The song also made an appearance on American Idol. Yes, American Idol, where contestant Kobyn Melton belted it out with Carrie Underwood in his corner. If that doesn’t prove that ‘Bodies’ transcends all genres and logic, nothing will.
‘Bodies’ originally came crashing onto the scene in 2001 as part of Drowning Pool’s debut album Sinner, which went platinum faster than you could say “LET THE—” (you get the idea). Over the years, the song has been dragged into controversy, misunderstood, and occasionally banned. Yet, it has never lost its place as one of the most recognisable metal anthems of all time. Guitarist C.J. Pierce even joked, “I’d play ‘Bodies’ five times a night if people really wanted it that bad!” Honestly, C.J., at this point, they probably do.
Drowning Pool is Hitting the Road with Godsmack
As if giving ‘Bodies’ a fresh set of visuals wasn’t enough, Drowning Pool is also packing their gear for a massive 2025 European tour with Godsmack and special guests P.O.D. The run kicks off in Bulgaria on March 22 and barrels through multiple countries before wrapping up in Germany on April 12. VIP meet-and-greet packages are available for fans who want to get up close and personal with the band (though, regrettably, there are no guarantees that they’ll scream “LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR” directly at you).
