Australian post-punk solo artist ENOLA has just released their powerful new single, ‘Metal Body,’ which tackles the failure of healthcare systems and the frustrations experienced by both the artist and their loved ones.
Influenced by 90’s grunge and shoegaze bands like Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine, and Pixies, ‘Metal Body’ opens with a sparse guitar and bass before exploding into walls of sound that perfectly capture the raw emotion of the subject matter.
“Whatever it is, I want to do it honestly. I don’t want to hide. You can’t connect when you’re not willing to be ugly and sweaty, I try to let go of any of that,” they share.
ENOLA, a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and songwriter, has been making waves in the Australian music scene since their 2019 debut EP. They have performed alongside notable acts like RVG, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, and Divide and Dissolve and have gained support from BBC Radio 1 and Rough Trade.
ENOLA continues to impress with their ability to blend genre influences and create urgent, emotional songs that speak to important issues. With new music on the horizon in 2023, we can’t wait to see what they do next.
