The UK alternative metal band just announced their upcoming live EP, Master Tapes – 10 Years Live at Masters of Rock, set to drop on June 19 via Noble Demon. This digital release marks a significant milestone for the band, commemorating their long-standing relationship with the renowned Masters of Rock festival.
Neonfly’s journey with the festival began in 2012 when they first electrified the crowd on the second stage. Their powerful performance secured them a spot on the Main Stage the following year, and since then, the band has returned to Masters of Rock multiple times, each performance etching a deeper connection with their Czech fans.
Reflecting on their decade-long adventure, the band shared, “Our journey with Masters of Rock began in 2012 when we played to a packed second stage, winning the hearts and minds of everyone present. This led to us returning the following year and being promoted to an early afternoon slot on the Main Stage. Since then, the Czech fans, and especially those at Masters of Rock, have always held a special place in our hearts. Playing there feels like coming home, and we wanted to show our gratitude to all the fans who rocked out with us over the years, as well as to the fantastic team at Pragokoncert for their unwavering support.”
The EP is a sonic chronicle of their festival highlights, featuring live tracks from various performances over the years. Notable songs include ‘Heart of the Sun‘ from their 2013 Main Stage debut and ‘A Gift to Remember‘ and ‘Morning Star‘ from their fiery 2015 show, which introduced their now-iconic fire-breathing act by guitarist Frederick Thunder.
Fast forward to 2022, after a seven-year hiatus, Neonfly made a triumphant return to Masters of Rock. This special performance, which marked their 10-year ‘MORversary,’ features standout tracks like ‘Highways to Nowhere‘ and ‘This World is Burning,’ capturing the essence of their journey. Guitarist Frederick Thunder describes ‘Highways to Nowhere’ as a staple of their live set, praising its energy and popularity among fans.
