The original Scary Movie hit cinemas almost 25 years ago, brought to life by the Wayans brothers—Keenen Ivory, Shawn, and Marlon. It satirised slasher hits like Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer while taking cheeky jabs at pop culture. The franchise spawned four sequels, although the Wayans brothers only stuck around for the first two (and let’s be real, their absence was felt). By the time Scary Movie 5 rolled around, even the heart of the franchise, Anna Faris and Regina Hall, had peaced out.
But here’s the good news: the Wayans brothers are back to develop Scary Movie 6! It’s unclear if Shawn and Marlon will be stepping in front of the camera this time, but Ghostface’s return has been confirmed by Dave Sheridan, the actor who played Doofy/Ghostface in the original film.
