It’s that time again – the year is wrapping up, and it’s time to brace ourselves for the inevitable wave of game delays. And no one does it quite like Devolver Digital. Today, November 27th, at 7 PM CET, the indie game publisher is back with their annual Devolver Delayed showcase – a celebration of all the exciting games that definitely won’t be making their expected release windows.
Titled Devolver Delayed 2024, this tongue-in-cheek awards show is set to highlight the indie gems we’re all eagerly waiting for… and probably still waiting for after this event. The showcase promises to reveal updates on games that have missed their launch dates yet again, with Devolver’s signature humour and self-awareness driving the whole thing. So, if you’re the type to get attached to release dates (only to be left in a post-delay haze), this one’s for you.
Honestly, for those of us with ADHD, this is basically a celebration of our lives. The excitement of a game’s release date is like the hype you feel for a project you know you won’t start until three months later – but hey, at least there’s something to look forward to, right?
Expect plenty of updates and, knowing Devolver, maybe even a few surprises. At this point, we all know the drill. “Never get your hopes up” is the motto here.
Oh, and who knows? They might throw in a little something new to keep us guessing. But probably not.
