Sibling duo Disgusting Sisters have officially arrived with their riotous debut single, ‘Killing It‘, out now via Speedy Wunderground’s iconic Speedy Singles series. This track is a middle finger to unsolicited advice, judgement, and every unironic “Live, Laugh, Love” motto we’re forced to endure.
Julianna and Joséphine Hopkins—self-described as the “Gucci Beavis and Butt-Head”—bring an unhinged energy that refuses to apologise. If you’ve ever wanted a soundtrack for grinning defiantly at life’s nonsense, this is it.
In their own words, the Anglo-French sisters explain: “Killing It is a song about owning your own life so completely that even if you chose to wreck it, you’re still in control—because in the end, the personal freedom to live on your own terms is what really matters.”
Pair that sentiment with biting wit, a nihilistic edge, and a relentless indie-punk sound, and you’ve got a track destined to ignite sweaty basement gigs and sticky club nights.
Live audiences are already feeling the energy—Killing It has been showcased at major festivals like Reading & Leeds, Left of the Dial, and Pitchfork Paris. With this level of hype, it’s safe to say Disgusting Sisters are more than just killing it—they’re obliterating expectations.
The song’s music video takes inspiration from cult classics like Trash Humpers and Lars von Trier’s The Idiots. Shot on the outskirts of Paris, the duo takes a burned-out car and smashes it to pieces in a cathartic, destructive frenzy. It’s a perfect metaphor: destruction begets creation.
Their lyrics don’t hold back either, with lines like “Choking it / Clutching it tight by the nuts and ripping it… F** yeah!”* capturing the band’s fiery ethos.
If Killing It has you intrigued, look out for a 7-inch vinyl release that’s out on the 29th of November, complete with a dub remix B-side by Dan Carey titled Dubbing It. Pre-order yours here.
