Today, British dance music sensation Becky Hill releases a documentary on YouTube titled ‘YOU/ME/US‘, chronicling her groundbreaking residency at the iconic Ibiza Rocks Hotel this summer.
During her residency at the hotel, Becky curated her weekly headline pool party, drawing a diverse crowd of fans and fellow artists. In the mini-doc, she candidly talks about the pressure she felt as a female artist in the dance music scene, her journey of self-discovery and coming out as queer.
Speaking about this experience, Becky says that creating an inclusive and safe space for everyone is a top priority, going on to explain that she was inspired by the “spiritual-ness” and “magnetism” of the island and wanted to bring that back into the forefront of her show.
The documentary also features commentary from drag performers Rilease Slaves, Freida Slaves, Margo Marshall and Chiyo, who attest that Becky is the real deal and her fearless commitment to the LGBTQ+ community is unwavering.
With an impressive four billion streams on Spotify alone, it’s easy to see why David Guetta dubs Becky Hill “one of the very rare queens of dance music.” And with the release of ‘YOU/ME/US’, Becky shows the world her fierce talent and unapologetic approach go far beyond the recording studio.
