Her latest single, ‘I Gotta Stop Letting You Let Me Down,’ has just hit all major streaming platforms, and it’s everything you’d want from the powerhouse guitarist: raw emotion, blistering guitar riffs, and a message of self-empowerment that hits straight to the soul.
This track is all about knowing when to walk away from someone who keeps letting you down. As Joanne puts it, “‘I Gotta Stop Letting You Let Me Down’ is a story about an on-and-off-again relationship with someone who keeps making promises they can’t fulfil. It’s about someone whose lack of self-esteem governs their choices, to the point where you have to decide to stop letting them disappoint you.”
Backing Joanne’s vocals and guitar work are Audley Freed on rhythm guitar and Doug Lancio on slide guitar, with production wizard Kevin Shirley bringing it all together.
This new single follows a string of releases that showcase Joanne’s versatility as a songwriter, including ‘Who’s Gonna Love Me Now‘, which dives into grief and healing, and her striking cover of ‘Black & Gold‘. Joanne is in her element.
