Two of the most legendary names in guitar music, Joe Satriani and Steve Vai, are teaming up for the first time ever as a band. Known as the SATCHVAI Band, the duo will kick off their UK tour, ‘Surfing with the Hydra‘, in June 2025, treating fans to what promises to be an epic celebration of guitar mastery.
Satriani and Vai are two guitar icons with a history hitting almost 50 years. Vai, once a student of Satriani’s, recalls their shared beginnings: “Every time we play together, it takes me back to when we were teenagers… pushing, challenging, and helping each other to be the best we could be.” Satriani echoes the sentiment, saying, “Touring with Steve is always a pleasure and an honour. I feel as though we are both at the top of our game.”
The UK leg of the tour launches on the 13th of June 2025 at York Barbican, with stops in London, Glasgow, Wolverhampton, and Manchester. Following this, the band will continue their journey across Europe, making appearances at renowned festivals like Hellfest in France and the Umbria Jazz Festival in Italy.
