The iconic city of Liverpool is about to star in its own film, with Liverpool Story, a heartfelt new documentary, hitting UK cinemas on 21st November 2024.
Directed, written, and produced by Daniel Draper, known for Dennis Skinner: Nature of the Beast, and produced and edited by Christie Allanson, Liverpool Story takes viewers on a year-long journey through the city’s streets, uncovering the beauty of everyday life. It’s a film that celebrates the people, the culture, and the unique pulse of the city Draper calls home.
Draper says, “Liverpool’s become a go-to destination for productions – easily disguised as London, New York, Moscow or even Gotham City. Given this, I thought it was time to make Liverpool the leading lady of her own film. I spent a year walking and filming the streets of the place I call home, documenting how a city operates over a single year and ultimately making a film about humans; the importance of community, fragile memories and the passing of time.”
A premiere will take place at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall on 21st November at 7.30 pm, with tickets available now.
