Meet MainFrames, where platforming meets puzzles in a computer operating system that’s more than just ones and zeros. Publisher The Arcade Crew (you know, the folks behind The Last Spell and Infernax) and developer Assoupi have just announced this little gem, set to launch on PC and Nintendo Switch in early 2025. And trust me, you won’t want to press the escape key on this one.
In MainFrames, you’ll be guiding Floppy—a program on the verge of a full-blown existential crisis—as they leap through the labyrinth of a computer network in search of their true purpose. It’s an introspective journey with platforming and a dash of light puzzle-solving thrown in for good measure.
Characters with a byte of personality
MainFrames is populated by a cast of colourful characters. They’re the kind of digital denizens that make you smile, even when you’re deep in the trickiest sections of the game. Each area within the network has its own unique vibe, with distinct styles, mechanics, and secrets waiting to be discovered.
