The Gran Turismo movie is confirmed to have started filming, and fans of the blockbuster racing simulator franchise eagerly await its release.
Based on the true story of Jann Mardenborough, a Gran Turismo player who won a series of gaming competitions and became a professional racecar driver, this film will combine drama and biopic elements with telling an inspirational story of perseverance, determination, and passion.
Directed by Neill Blomkamp of District 9 and Chappie fame, the film stars a talented cast including David Harbour (Stranger Things), Orlando Bloom (Pirates of the Caribbean), Archie Madekwe (See), Darren Barnet (Never Have I Ever), Djimon Hounsou (Black Adam), and Geri Halliwell-Horner, who is married to a real-life professional racecar driver.
With a script co-written by Oscar-nominated Jason Hall and Zach Baylin, who wrote King Richard, Gran Turismo is sure to be one of the year’s most exciting films. So mark your calendars for August 11 2023!
