Emma Grede Joins The King’s Trust as New Ambassador

From Shark Tank boardrooms to backing young entrepreneurs in London

British-born entrepreneur Emma Grede, best known to most of us from her sharp-as-a-tack Shark Tank appearances, has just taken on a new role as Ambassador for The King’s Trust (the charity formerly called The Prince’s Trust).

Grede, who built empires with Good American and SKIMS, grew up in East London. On a recent trip home, she spent time with young women supported by The King’s Trust and, by the sound of it, the visit hit hard.

“Since I was a kid growing up in East London, I’ve seen firsthand the incredible impact The King’s Trust has had on young people,” Grede said. “When I was starting out, having people who believed in me gave me the confidence to keep pushing forward. That’s why this work matters so deeply to me.”

What’s The King’s Trust?

The rebrand might’ve slipped under your radar. This is the same charity King Charles III set up in 1976. Since then, it’s helped more than a million young people across the UK get skills, training, and jobs.

Grede’s ambassadorship kicks off alongside Destination Unknown, a campaign with the Evening Standard spotlighting youth unemployment in London, where rates are still higher than the national average.

Why this is cool

For all the glitz and Shark Tank one-liners, Grede’s story connects straight back to the people The King’s Trust is working with right now. She knows what it’s like to grow up in East London and chase opportunities that don’t come easy, which makes her support feel a lot less token and a lot more personal.

TL;DR

  • Emma Grede (Shark Tank, Good American, SKIMS) is now a King’s Trust Ambassador.
  • She’s backing Destination Unknown, raising funds to fight youth unemployment in London.
  • The King’s Trust (formerly The Prince’s Trust) has supported over a million young people since 1976.
  • Grede’s own East London upbringing gives the partnership serious credibility.

Not every Shark Tank shark swaps investments for grassroots change, but Grede’s clearly betting on the next generation.
