David R. Hawkins was a real psychiatrist, and the Map of Consciousness is a real, published framework, a logarithmic scale running from shame up to enlightenment. It’s also built on applied kinesiology, or muscle testing, a method critics say hasn’t held up under controlled, double-blind conditions. None of that makes it a bad source for a horror game’s structure. It just means the “science” in the pitch is closer to a self-help bestseller than an accepted psychological model.
