- 8th album

- 2 guest features
- 2007 the year they formed
coldrain have released their eighth album, OPTIMIZE = OPTDEMISE, and it’s their first through Century Media Records. The Nagoya five-piece have been at it since 2007, selling out arenas at home and touring with ONE OK ROCK, Papa Roach and The Used, and they’ve just wrapped an Australian run supporting Electric Callboy alongside Ice Nine Kills.
What’s an OPTDEMISE?
The title is a made-up word mashing together opt, as in choice, with optimise and demise. The album is about technology and AI, and asks whether humanity keeps evolving or optimises itself into an ending. The band have framed it as a warning about “humanity’s growing confusion over what it means to be human”.
