Multiplayer playtest? Happening. Swords and guns? Yep. Weird little mini-games in between shooting demons in the face? You bet.
At Galaxies Gaming Showcase (which sounds fake but isn’t), indie devs Veewo Games dropped the very loud, very shiny news that Neon Abyss 2 is heading to Steam Early Access on July 17 — and honestly, our eyeballs have never been more grateful.
The sequel to the cult roguelike throws even more colour, cursed loot, and pixel carnage into the abyss — but this time, you don’t have to suffer alone. Neon Abyss 2 brings a four-player online co-op, meaning you and your mates can smash through cyber-dungeons together, slicing and spellcasting your way through literal hellscapes. And if you can’t wait until July to unleash that inner gremlin? There’s a free multiplayer playtest live right now until April 24. Just head to neonabyss.com to jump in. Do it. Do it now.
Watch the new trailer here (it absolutely slaps):
What’s new in Neon Abyss 2?
Other than the glorious fact you can now scream in multiplayer? Loads. Like:
- A new character, Elisa, who might actually be cooler than you
- A revamped Faith system, where you can mess with god-tier powers mid-run
- Weapons that now include guns, swords, and magic — the trifecta
- And for those ADHD breather moments: hoop-shooting, fishing, and mini-games galore
This is cyber-mythological mayhem cranked up to eleven, and you’re invited to the party.
