There’s a new Neon Abyss 2 gameplay video out and we’re… overstimulated in the best possible way. Ahead of its 17 July Early Access launch on Steam, Veewo Games has dropped 14 minutes of multiplayer footage, giving us a first look at the game’s brand new four-player co-op mode — and it’s a lot. Like, sensory-bombardment-meets-bestie-backstab kind of a lot.
This sequel isn’t just doing “more of the same.” It’s adding new characters, wild new systems, and enough item stacking nonsense to turn your run into a full-blown mess of glittering upgrades and questionable decisions. Basically, it looks like a perfect time.

Four Players, One Brain Cell
Yes, you can still play solo. But let’s be honest — the real fun is dragging three mates into the abyss and watching it all unravel.
The new online co-op mode lets you charge in as a group, share (or absolutely refuse to share) loot, and fall out dramatically when someone nicks the item you were clearly eyeing. You can stick together, or wander off mid-fight like a magpie with a sword. Up to you. Just don’t expect anyone to revive you when it goes south.
The footage gives a decent look at just how frantic the multiplayer gets. Think explosions, dodging, chaotic synergy stacking, and someone always forgetting what their power-up actually does. It’s brilliant.
Loot First, Ask Questions Never
If you’re the kind of player who sees “synergy” and immediately thinks “stack 47 random effects and hope for the best,” you’ll be right at home here.
Neon Abyss 2 doubles down on that maximalist build-your-mess energy — the more items you collect, the more unhinged your loadout becomes. Want to fire bouncing bananas while also leaving a trail of poison and controlling a tiny demon buddy? Sure. Why not. Nobody’s stopping you.
There’s also a new Faith System, which hasn’t been fully explained but probably involves some light eldritch rituals and desperately hoping the next upgrade isn’t cursed.
New Characters, Same Weird Vibes
The sequel brings in fresh faces, each with their own special abilities and extremely strong “don’t trust them” energy. We don’t have bios yet, but we’ve already judged them based on outfit, haircut, and general cryptid vibes.
This is definitely a “pick your fighter based on emotional damage compatibility” kind of game. And we respect that.
TL;DR
- Neon Abyss 2 launches in Steam Early Access on 17 July
- A new 14-minute gameplay video shows off four-player online co-op
- Go it solo or make questionable choices with friends
- Over-the-top item stacking returns with even more nonsense
- New characters, a Faith System, and probably some accidental betrayals
- It looks loud, messy, and deeply addictive
Neon Abyss 2 wants you to overthink your builds, underthink your decisions, and say “just one more run” until the sun comes up. If that’s your kind of evening, wishlist it now, round up the group chat, and start arguing over who gets the weird egg gun.
Stay unruly.
