Sam Fender fans, it’s your lucky day – his third album, People Watching, is dropping on the 21st of February 2025 via Polydor Records, and it’s set to be a big one! The North Shields-born singer-songwriter has been working on this new record for two years, with sessions split between London in 2023 with producer Markus Dravs and later in LA with The War on Drugs’ Adam Granduciel. Known for his vivid storytelling and razor-sharp take on life’s gritty edges, Sam’s new album promises a look into the lives of the everyday – something he’s always done brilliantly.
People Watching is shaping up to be the next step for Sam, building on the intensity of Seventeen Going Under but leaning into the stories and characters he’s observed along the way. The album cover even features a striking photo by Tish Murtha, a legendary photographer from Newcastle who captured the reality of working-class communities – making it clear that Sam’s connection to his roots is front and centre.
If you’ve missed out on tickets for his arena tour, you’re not alone. All UK and Ireland dates sold out in record time, with over 140,000 tickets gone in a flash. Lucky fans who snagged tickets will see Sam perform live in December with support from Wunderhorse and next March with CMAT across Europe.
For those counting down, here’s a sneak peek at the tracklist: from ‘Nostalgia’s Lie’ to ‘TV Dinner,’ and ‘Crumbling Empire,’ there’s a lot to get hyped for.
