After two decades of fans begging, pleading, and probably posting aggressively in all caps, Marlon Wayans has officially declared: “I think it’s time.” Yep, White Chicks 2 could finally be happening.
Speaking to Good Morning America at the 2025 NAACP Image Awards, Wayans revealed that people still hound him about the 2004 cult classic on a daily basis. “Every single day, [they asked] ‘When are you doing the sequel?'” he said. And instead of dodging the question like a true FBI agent in a blonde wig, he actually gave us hope. “So, you know, let’s get ‘Scary Movie 6‘ done, and then we’re gonna go bring out the ‘White Chicks 2.'”
It’s the closest thing to a confirmation we’ve had in years, and honestly, we’re ready. It’s been 20 years since Wayans and his brother Shawn transformed into Tiffany and Brittany Wilson. In that time, the movie has gone from a box office hit to a certified comedy classic to a meme goldmine. It’s a comfort movie for me, honestly.
Will It Actually Happen?
Look, we’ve been burned before. Wayans has teased a sequel multiple times, most recently in 2024 when he posted an Instagram tribute for the film’s 20th anniversary, writing, “Hope to bring you all a sequel before she turns 25.”
But this time? This time feels different, and we’re cautiously optimistic.
