After racking up more than 250,000 players during Steam Next Fest, BALL x PIT has officially rolled onto Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Game Pass, and PC — with a Switch 2 release dropping later this year.
From the wonderfully twisted brain of Kenny Sun and Friends, this one’s part brick-breaker, part survival roguelite, and part fever dream about rebuilding civilisation via increasingly cursed ball physics.
What even is this game?
Imagine Vampire Survivors, Breakout, and a glue-sniffing base builder had a baby. That’s BALL x PIT. You’ll:
- Fuse your balls (their words, not ours) — over 60 randomised combinations to discover, each one wilder than the last.
- Build New Ballbylon — construct more than 70 upgradable structures to unlock heroes, buff your chaos, and expand your base.
- Explore strange worlds — deserts, caverns, and forests crawling with weird enemies and massive boss fights.
- Recruit treasure hunters — heroes who switch up your playstyle, because apparently even balls need friends.
It’s ridiculous, addictive, and surprisingly strategic. The kind of game you open for “just one run” and then realise it’s 3 AM and you’re emotionally invested in the fate of your spherical empire.
The cult of Kenny Sun
If the name rings a bell, it’s because Kenny Sun has made a name out of making games that feel like art installations you can die in (Circa Infinity, Ynglet, Tender). BALL x PIT is his most unhinged yet. It’s a mix of arcade absurdity, roguelite depth, and “what if capitalism but round?” energy.
There’s something oddly cathartic about smashing through hordes of enemies with an army of glowing orbs while your base evolves into a techno-baroque temple to excess. It’s dumb in all the smartest ways.
TL;DR
- BALL x PIT is out now on Switch, PS5, Xbox Game Pass & PC.
- Coming to Switch 2 later this year.
- Brick-breaking, ball-fusing, base-building roguelite with over 60 ball types and 70 structures.
- From Kenny Sun and Friends — the minds behind Circa Infinity and Tender.
- Over 250,000 players have already fallen into the pit. Your turn.
It’s chaotic, clever, and a little horny for geometry. In other words, perfect. Whether you’re here for the physics, the power-ups, or just the joy of saying “I’m fusing my balls” out loud, BALL x PIT is pure unfiltered fun.
Stay unruly.
