Fatboy Slim is coming back to Australia in March 2027, and he’s ditching the arenas for somewhere a lot more interesting. Better still, the whole tour starts right here in WA.
Norman Cook (Fatboy Slim’s real name) opens the run at Esplanade Park in Fremantle on Wednesday 3 March, setting up his decks under the stars before heading east. Freo has serious dance-floor form, too: Basement Jaxx turned Fremantle Prison into a full maximalist miracle back in March. His brief for the venues is gloriously specific:
Bridges, rivers, parks, old railway sheds… if it’s a bit weird and the sound system’s loud enough, I’m there.

Side Quest How Many People Can You Fit on a Beach?
In July 2002, Fatboy Slim’s free Big Beach Boutique II show on Brighton beach drew an estimated 250,000 people, far more than anyone planned for. Esplanade Park should be a bit roomier.
Sydney Sold Out Fast
Demand has been huge. All three nights at Sydney’s Carriageworks are sold out, and Brisbane and Melbourne have each added a second show after the first one sold out. Fremantle still has tickets at the time of writing, but the tour poster has it marked as selling fast, so don’t sit on it.
Expect the classics, including Praise You, Right Here, Right Now, The Rockafeller Skank and Weapon of Choice, alongside newer mischief like Satisfaction Skank (his own Rockafeller Skank mashed up with The Rolling Stones’ Satisfaction) and Funk Drunk, his collab with Carola and Felix Da Housecat.

Heading to Freo? It’s an outdoor dance party with a big sound system, so loop-style earplugs are your friend, and it’s worth agreeing on a meeting spot with your crew before the crowd builds. The Festival Survival Guide has plenty more on both.
