Looking to support empathy education in schools across Ireland and beyond, the Irish-American Partnership has funded the production of ‘Ionbhá: The Empathy Book for Ireland‘, an essential collection of essays, stories, and poems on empathy by some of Ireland’s most prominent figures.
Actor Cillian Murphy and Professor Pat Dolan, Director of the UNESCO Child and Family Research Centre at NUI Galway, are two of the book’s key contributors, along with Hozier, The Edge, Imelda May, and many others. These influential figures share their thoughts on empathy and offer inspiring examples of how we can activate this critical concept in our everyday lives.
“We need empathy in schools just as we need empathy in the world right now,” said actor Cillian Murphy.
Empathy education, as this collection shows, can transform our schools and communities for the better. Empathy helps us build a more inclusive society, combat bullying and discrimination, and create positive change in the world by promoting understanding, compassion, and tolerance.
With its mission to support empathy education in schools, the Irish-American Partnership is helping to pave the way for a more empathetic future. So, if you’re looking to foster more significant social and emotional learning in your community, check out ‘Ionbhá: The Empathy Book for Ireland’ today!
