Aussie rock Goddess Orianthi is set to drop her latest single, Some Kind of Feeling, today, Friday, 15th November, via Woodward Avenue Records. You can pre-save the track now on all streaming platforms. This release is also the title track from her upcoming album, scheduled to hit in 2025.
Produced by music maestro Kevin Shirley—whose credits span Journey, Aerosmith, and Led Zeppelin—Some Kind of Feeling is a smouldering, blues-rock anthem with Orianthi’s fierce guitar work and emotive vocals.
Orianthi says in the track, “When he walked into my world, now you’re by my side. All the ghosts are gone that used to keep me up at night.” Her lyrics embody the transformative effects of love as she celebrates finding someone who “pulled her out of difficult, dark places” and gave her that “some kind of feeling” she’s been searching for.
The song kicks off with guitar riffs and bluesy keys from Ed Roth, setting the stage for Orianthi’s soulful vocals. In the chorus, she sings, “Cause everybody’s looking for something. We’re all searching for a deeper meaning… Just gonna be right by your side. Cause baby, you give me some kind of feeling.” It’s a hook you’ll want to sing along to, with gospel-infused backing vocals provided by Orianthi, Jade MacRae, and Justin Andres, giving it a church-like rock revival vibe.
