In the mood for a chaotic racing game? Say no more. Ratalaika Games and Shinyuden have resurrected Rider’s Spirits, or ‘Bike Daisuki! Hashiriya Kon’, as it’s known beyond the west.
The cult classic is available now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One & Series S|X, and Nintendo Switch!
Imagine Mario Kart and a racing simulator had a baby, and you’d come pretty darn close to Rider’s Spirits. You can keep tabs on your competition, stop by the pit stop to fuel up and swap items as you zoom through one of 20 tracks with varying terrain. Each map has original designs with hazards to dodge, such as traffic cones, water ponds, and stone pillars.
Then there’s your character selection, with each choice having a unique skill set that you’ll need to find the right technique master, with certain stages having advantages (or disadvantages) based on your selection.
Every bike and rider has individual attributes. Some excel in speed in a straight line, while others offer improved grip for smoother handling. Discover the perfect bike and rider combination for you, and claim the coveted #1 spot!
Whether you’re playing against the computer or with a friend on local multiplayer, there are plenty of tracks and game modes to choose from to keep you racing to victory.
When things aren’t going your way, you can channel your inner wacky racer with an array of unruly items to sabotage your opponents and be the first to get over the finish line! Are you ready to dominate the track?
Game Modes:
- Rider’s GP: You race in several tracks and earn points based on your finishing place. The racer with the most points at the end wins the tournament.
- Time Trial: Try to obtain the fastest time
- Endurance: Make a team of two racers and try to stay first for 1, 3 or 5 minutes, just remember if you run out of fuel, you are out, so make sure to enter the pit stop to exchange racers
- Battle Race (2 players): Compete with another player to see who is the first to cross the goal
- Chicken Run (2 players): Run down a road and stop as close to the edge as possible without going over
