Ready for some Scott Pilgrim hype mode? During San Diego Comic Con 2025, the iconic franchise took over the con with a star-studded panel, new gameplay footage, a banging Anamanaguchi track, and three physical editions of the upcoming game, Scott Pilgrim EX, now up for preorder via Limited Run Games.
The panel had vibes, okay?
Held at SDCC, the Scott Pilgrim EX panel wasn’t just a rehash of old beats. It was a stacked showcase with creator Bryan Lee O’Malley, Tribute Games folks like Jean-Francois Major and Yannick Belzil, and Limited Run CEO Josh Fairhurst. Oh — and Griffin Newman (Blank Check Podcast) was there to moderate, because of course.
A surprise guest appearance from Anamanaguchi’s Peter Berkman had fans in full-body chills. Not only are they backdoing the soundtrack for EX, but they teased a new track that’ll feature in-game.
What we saw: Teaser time
The sneak peek teaser for Scott Pilgrim EX gave us that familiar pixel-punching joy with a fresh story. Scott and Ramona kick things off in Toronto after Sex Bob Omb’s instruments are stolen, racing through the city to recover them and face off against fresh new threats (and yes, more evil exes).
Expect side-scrolling beatdowns across beaches (yes, Toronto has those now), back alleys, and possibly time itself. With up to four-player co-op, new enemies, and customisable characters, this is far from a simple remaster.
