The official trailer for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is finally here, and it’s eye-poppingly good. Cue the squeals of delight!
Tim Burton’s Ghost with the Most will be back in action later this year, bringing together the beloved cast and characters from the original film as well as some exciting new faces.
Michael Keaton effortlessly steps back into his striped-suit glory as Beetlejuice, bringing the same manic, repulsive energy we know and love. Winona Ryder is our iconic Lydia Deetz, now a mum to an unruly teen named Astrid, played by Jenna Ortega. Catherine O’Hara is Delia Deetz, Lydia’s step-mum, and Monica Bellucci, Willem Dafoe, and Justin Theroux join the fray, adding more mayhem to this strange and unusual adventure.
The trailer is a nostalgic trip with Burton’s signature visuals, including stop-motion effects and quirky puppetry, making it feel like a true successor to the 1988 classic. The return of the eerie sandworm void and Beetlejuice’s grotesque scheming is sure to keep cult followers satiated.
In this new chapter in Winter River, Astrid stumbles upon the model town in the attic, accidentally opening a portal to the Afterlife and unleashing Beetlejuice back into the Deetz family’s lives.
The screenplay, crafted by Wednesday creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, promises to capture the weird humour and ghoulish charm that made the original a classic. Add it to your calendar because Beetlejuice Beetlejuice hits theatres on September 6th 2024. First day showing, anyone?
