Valentine’s Day 2025 is about to hit differently with the release of Afterlove EP, the final masterpiece by the late Fahmi, the visionary behind Coffee Talk and What Comes After. Landing on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 on February 14, this is an earnest exploration of grief, music, and moving forward.
The game follows Rama, a musician grappling with life after the sudden loss of his girlfriend, Cinta. Haunted by her voice, a blessing and a burden, Rama is stuck between holding on and letting go. There’s a half-finished EP he promised her, a band and friendships to repair, and an end-of-month gig that might be his second chance. Oh, and figuring out how to live, love, or at least function again.
Set in the lively streets of modern-day Jakarta, Afterlove EP brings the city to life with vibrant, hand-drawn artwork by Indonesian artist Soyatu and showcases real landmarks.
The gameplay itself is narrative adventure, visual novel, rhythm mechanics, and life simulation. Indie band L’alphalpha crafted the entire soundtrack in Indonesian, and it hits all the right notes. English subtitles ensure nothing gets lost in translation, but the music speaks for itself.
This project is a tribute to Fahmi’s vision and the creativity he poured into his work. Pikselnesia, the indie team behind Afterlove EP, have worked tirelessly to complete his final project, ensuring it stays true to his legacy while honouring the culture and stories of Jakarta.
