Grab your shades and get ready to groove—16-year-old musical wunderkind Thomas Thunder has just dropped his latest single, ‘Sunshine.’ This upbeat Latin jazz instrumental is the soundtrack to your summer, showcasing not only Thomas’s prodigious talent on the drums but also his knack for songwriting and arranging. Joining him on this vibrant track are some serious heavyweights: Derek Sherinian of Dream Theater on piano, Ric Fierabracci of Blood, Sweat, and Tears on bass, and the stellar Terminus Horns (known for their work with Snarky Puppy) on saxophone, trombone, and flute. Meet the Prodigy

So, who is Thomas Thunder? Hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, Thomas has been marching to the beat of his own drum since the tender age of five. By seven, he was already performing in bands at the School of Rock. Besides being a drumming dynamo, Thomas has mastered the bass guitar, upright bass, guitar, and keyboards. He’s a regular in three School of Rock bands, an assistant music teacher, and a recent addition to the Providence Drum Troupe.

Thomas’s songwriting journey began at age ten with his first single earning a prize in the New England Songwriting competition. Fast forward a few years, and Thomas caught the attention of keyboard legend Derek Sherinian. By 14, Thomas had dropped his debut album, ‘The Pharaoh’s Temple‘, featuring collaborations with Sherinian, Ron Bumblefoot Thal, and Tony Franklin.
