“I’m in the middle of becoming someone else. The last time I did that was years ago, when I became Peach Porcelain from Shaylee, and entered into the world of stripping and everything that came with that. Now, it feels like I’m in another porcelain stage.”
That sense of fragility and strength living side by side runs through ‘Out Loud’, a song written from a place that refuses emotional neatness. It is desperate on purpose. Messy on purpose. Human on purpose.
Rather than writing with the benefit of hindsight and emotional distance, Peach leans into the feeling of wanting something that might already be doomed.
“I don’t want to look back on a song about how I know deep down that a closeted relationship can’t last and that I’m accepting that with maturity. I’m holding on. I’m stamping my feet. I’m crying. I’m refusing to accept that my love could be doomed.”
